All District 8 volunteer coaches must complete screening in accordance with Little League regulations, and the requirements of our insurance, provided through the Western Canada Amateur Baseball Foundation.
1. POLICE INFORMATION CHECK WITH VULNERABLE SECTOR SEARCH
If you have a Police Information Check with Vulnerable Sector Search dated sometime in 2023, please forward a copy to us.
If not, please request a volunteer letter from us. Once you receive the letter, go online and submit a request for a Police Information Check with Vulnerable Sector Search through the Calgary Police Service at https://www.policesolutions.ca/checks/services/calgary/index.php. If you reside outside the City of Calgary, you must go to your local RCMP detachment to apply.
The cost with a volunteer letter is $15.00, please submit the receipt and you will be reimbursed upon successful return of a CLEAR Police Information Check with Vulnerable Sector Search. In some cases, certain volunteers will be required to make an appointment and attend in person to have fingerprints done, there is a further fee of $25.00 to get this completed. Same as above, obtain a receipt and submit for reimbursement upon successful return of a CLEAR Police Information Check with Vulnerable Sector Search.
2. CHILD ABUSE PREVENTION TRAINING
ONE of these programs must be completed and transcript/certificate submitted:
(A) SafeSport - Coaching Association of Canada
* This course is connected to the NCCP locker, a PDF of your transcript must be submitted
OR
(B) SafeSport - USA Baseball
Register for an account (free) and take Abuse Awareness for Adults course
This course provides a PDF certificate of completion
